SELECTED WORK
The thinking behind the work.
A closer look at the questions, decisions, collaborations, and outcomes behind two strategic initiatives.
CASE STUDY 01 / AUDIENCE STRATEGY
From audience signals to what's next.
The challenge
External true crime documentary releases were driving spikes in interest in related CNN coverage. The opportunity was to anticipate that interest rather than simply react to it.
The approach
I developed an AI-assisted research process to anticipate upcoming releases and editorial opportunities. I initiated an idea to improve content recommendations, partnering with Product and SEO on a tagging and discovery approach. Audience focus groups with Product were part of the same broader initiative.
The impact
The strategy generated thousands of additional page views, substantially improved audience recirculation, and deepened our understanding of reader interests.
CASE STUDY 02 / LEADERSHIP
Better together, by design.
The challenge
Two teams with different responsibilities and working styles were brought together. Trust, uneven skills, and a growing management workload complicated the transition.
The approach
I originated and led an intentional but flexible peer-partnership initiative across the former teams, matching complementary strengths with development opportunities. This helped colleagues build relationships, share expertise, and support one another without placing every training need on managers.
The impact
I collected anonymous monthly ratings and suggestions to evaluate and improve the program. That regular feedback also helped colleagues feel more invested in shaping it. Outcomes included stronger relationships, improved morale and collaboration, broader skills, and less pressure on people managers.
